We went to the Met (if you go to New York and have never been there - put this on the top of your list of things to do!)

We wanted to see a show - but the line at TKTS was too long

We went to the Strand Bookstore (amazing place if you love books)

We also did a visit to Purl Soho

PART 2:

I discuss traveling and knitting with our friend Jess D - she went to Turkey at the same time I was in Europe.  (if she send me pictures I will post them here.

Yarn Tourism:

(sorry you got to hear about this twice if you listened to both parts!)

Delft Hat
Coniferous Hat

Knitting from the Stash for 2013 Goal

I threw down a challenge to Jess to review my stash and make recommendations on what I should make from it.  Here's what she suggested:

Cabledown Raglan by Stephanie Japel in Incense by Elann
Ella Funt by Pamela Wynn in Elan Pura
(also mentioned Coffee Bean and Baby Blue Berry by Elizabeth Smith
The Dreambird KAL by Nadita Swings in Wandering Wool Rock Creek Sock and leftover sock yarn
The Blackcurrant Shawl by Veera Valimaki in Zen Yarn Garden
Rock Island Shawl by Jared Flood in any of my lace weight yarns (then we said Fyberspates Scrumptious Lace)

Jess is doing the Mitered Crosses Afghan in some of her Elan yarns stash and we talked about doing a knit along with her.    I am going to look through Comfort Knitting and Crochet:Afghans and maybe use the Elann Pura for one of the afghans

We're opening up a Knit from the Stash contest in the DCUnRaveled group - and you will want to check out this site and register for the yarn meter if you want to play along.
